Elementary School Attendance Forms

Regular attendance is an important part of every student’s success and is necessary in order to gain the greatest benefit from the educational experience. Students who are frequently absent from school miss direct instruction and regular contact with their teachers, which may ultimately result in academic difficulty.

(Bethel Park School District School Board Policy: 204)

District policy requires parents to send in a written excuse within three (3) days of the original absence. If a written excuse is not sent, the absence is considered unlawful or illegal.

A maximum of fifteen (15) days of cumulative lawful absences verified by parental notification shall be permitted during a school year. All absences beyond fifteen (15) cumulative days shall require an excuse from a licensed practitioner of the healing arts.

If a child accumulates any additional unlawful absences, we must, by state law, notify the district magistrate.
